Ph.D. Gloria Valek Valdés

Ph.D Gloria Valek Valdés is a Full-Time Academic Technician C at the General Directorate for Science Communication, UNAM, and a Professor at the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences at UNAM, where she has a 32-year career. She obtained her bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences from UNAM, a master's degree in History from the University of Cambridge, and a Ph.D in Political and Social Sciences from UNAM. As an editor, she directed the magazines Ciencia y Desarrollo (CONAHCYT) and Geplacea, and since 1998 she has been the editor-in-chief of the magazine "¿Cómo ves?" of the DGDC-UNAM.


Her academic production includes eleven books on scientific dissemination, highlighting works on oil, water and astronomy. She has taught various subjects in the postgraduate program at FCPyS-UNAM, directed numerous theses and actively participated in the dissemination of science through conferences and the media.
